Simon Cowell writes letter to younger self, Adam Lambert already No. 2 on iTunes

strong>Simon Cowell, now 50 years old, writes a letter to his 30 year old self in the Daily Mail.

After reading through most of it, which is kind of interesting if you’re into Simon’s early background, I realize he clearly had some spare time on his hands. And yet he still hasn’t said anything of substance about Ellen DeGeneres.

-Ryan Seacrest may be too expensive (and busy) to take over for CNN’s Larry King. That’s what an inside anonymous source told the New York Post. Of course, King has no immediate public plans to retire. When I interviewed him a few months back, he said he wouldn’t know what else to do. And he’s signed through 2011. But it’s fun to speculate, eh? Seacrest subs for King on occasion.

-Adam Lambert’s album, nearly two months from release, is already No. 2 on Amazon.com’s sales charts. MJ notes that the link was leaked, that it’s not even available if you search “Adam Lambert.” It’s untitled and costs $9.99.

His fans are clearing chomping on his bit for this record! Okay, that sounded a wee dirty, didn’t it?

And here’s a photo released of Justin Guarini’s wedding:

Morning!

Two new threads in less than 15 hours! Methinks our friend Rodney is sick of moving furniture! ;-)

I’m very interested in hearing what Adam will be offering for his debut album. I’m a little concerned because I think that at least half of the fun of Adam Lambert is visual. He’s got a great voice but watching him sing is part of the Adam Experience.

Mercedes, welcome back from Sweden. sorry about your flooded basement.

It will be interesting to see/hear what Adam’s album will offer. I don’t know if I would purchase it but would like to hear the songs.

Again, congrats to Justin and his new bride.

Mercedes, are you home yet or did I read your last post correctly and you’re still in Sweden? So sorry about your basement being flooded. Thank goodness that was all.

Good morning all! I hate that summer is over. It’s my favorite season, even with the heat. But, I have to admit to enjoying having my windows open at night. I woke early to hear the distant barking of a dog, the happy conversation of some passing walkers, and a cool breeze floating over my bed.

Gotta (respectfully) disagree with Harriett. Fall is my favorite time of year. The cool temps, the leaves changing, comfort foods like soups, stews and pies…. mmmmMMMmmmm!

Good point by her highness about the “Adam Experience.”

And I still can’t get over the fact that Justin Guarini is actually heterosexual!

Hope everyone has a great day.

I’m a fan of fall and spring. What I don’t like is temperature extremes. My electric bills are also very fond of fall and spring. No heat, no air conditioning makes for a very friendly payment.

Oh, I am a big fan of the fall – long sleeve shirts or a light jacket – my favorite kind of weather!
Congrats to Justin. It is just me, but I always get a little irked with the big white gown for a woman who already has kids….maybe its is just the old fashioned southern girl in me….
Can’t wait for Adam’s album – although I am not one of those that has pre-ordered it.

Ryan Seacrest will take over the world, one entertainment outlet at a time.

Thanks Rodney for the new thread, the last one just wasn’t that interesting. Not due to your fault.

Lara, maybe she should have worn red? If we apply traditional values to all weddings I think we’d put the white wedding dress manufacturors out of business.

Don’t know how many has heard Kellie Pickler’s new single, “How Much I Love You”, but it’s great. I have heard it about 8/9 times since yesterday morning. The DJ’s are giving it a lot of air time. I think she may just have her first number 1 hit. The song has a little upbeat tempo and she sounds great.

My favorite season is spring when all are coming into a rebirth. Second, would be the Christmas season.

Still in Sweden, my friends. If you think Atlanta traffic is bad, you ought to try Gothenburg. Insane drivers, roundabouts, bicyclists, suicidal pedestrians and street cars that stop for no one…

Tonight’s the girls’ night on Swedish Idol.

Mercedes, do you have family in Sweden or just on vacation? If they drive anything like they do in Nassau, I would stay off the sidewalks (and streets) for sure. Anyway, have a good time and enjoy the scenery.

I forgot to ask if anyone saw DWTS last night. Aaron Carter and Katina out danced everyone. They got the top score (27) again. I predict Tom Leland or Kathy Ireland will leave tonight.

Sorry Mercedes… worst traffic you can possibly imagine is in India. Go to YouTube and search on “India Traffic” – and you’ll cringe at all the near-misses.

After experiencing that… I’ll never complain about Atlanta traffic again!

I’m taking the afternoon off. So I’ll see everyone tomorrow.

For those of you that romance the seasons…………..a verse I penned this morning….

Fall’s Bounty,

Though the beauty of spring has long since faded,
an September’s show is still on view,
signs of a coming main attraction,
fill the heart with joy anew

When azure paints the October skies,
and autumn’s glow fills every space,
The harvest that was dreamed in summer,
takes it’s place on center stage……

Happy Fall all, and much love and success to Adam, a tremendous talent.

Not only is it slow on here, but here at the office I thought time had stood still. Having said that, my 10 hrs are up, so I’m heading home. Have a great evening, and keep a song in your heart, a smile on your face and a tap in your toes, and be safe on the roads and highways.

Thanks for the laugh, JT! Hey, everyone, I am headed to San Antonio, TX in the morning, so I will be missing from the blog for several days. Going to go to a conference there, but I plan to see some sights and visit with a couple of friends while there. I’ll be thinking of you.
Bye for now!

JT!!!!!! You need to stop picking on Rodney!!!!!! We’ve seen plenty of fans chomping at an Idol’s bit. It’s not a pretty sight!

Deirdre, no more picking on Rodney, the bit part just caught my eye. It does show that I am paying attention.

I’m kind of disappointed that the Kris fans aren’t chomping on something and using this opportunity to bash Adam.

How well is the Kris album doing? It’s coming out before Adam’s! I’m sure Rodney will snag an interview with one of the five people who buy it.

Adam is a Kumquat and Kris is a Carrot!

I had to attend to long neglected chores today, so I couldn’t blog. I shut the air conditioner down and opened every window in the house, the only drawback to that is now all the allergens come in. I enjoy every season when they first arrive, then at some point I grow tired of the present season and want the next one to arrive already, I guess I’m not very patient or either I have ADD.

I guess I can’t go to any of the places mentioned before that have horrible traffic, I can’t even get myself to go to Atlanta because of the traffic.

My oldest daughter went with a group of students and an Art teacher to England,France and Italy when she was 15 and got into all kinds of bad situations because she didn’t know any better, not on purpose. She was ordering food in Italy and apparently used an obscene gesture to do it. In England she said bloody, I suppose that it is inappropriate to say bloody when in England? I’ll just stay here in America so that I won’t get into any trouble.

DWTS- at this point I like Mya the most.

Enough rambling about nothing.

Good Night!!!

Good Monring Everybody!!

Today’s Quote: “May you always have love to share, health to spare and friends that care.”

I would say that Adam was a persimmon (bitter when not ripe and delicious when ripe) and Kris an apricot (small and sweet).

Harm, you can ramble as long as you want to here. I think we have all done it a time or two.

I missed the last 10 minutes of DWTS, so who went home?

Do not know who Justin is….um, but that is one of the most beautiful photo’s of a wedding couple I have ever seen!

I agree with the visual comment about Lambert. He is so exciting to watch perform but I have been listening to his AI songs since May and never tire of his voice. (I did not attend the tour–regretted that decision.) But cannot get enough of his voice so, his new CD will just ratchet up the anticipation of his future solo tour. He is the kind of artist that should offer a CD with a DVD. It would fly off the shelves. He is magnetic for sure.

I’m a huge Adam fan, but the hype is so crazy that I’m just hoping he delivers and that it all doesn’t backfire on him. I’m just kinda worried. It is humanly impossible to meet the sort of hyperbole surrounding him, I don’t know how he deals with the high expecations, my brain would explode. He did admit the pressure got to him a little.

I haven’t pre-ordered, I’ll wait for his album. I may not even like his music. I hope I do because he’s a crazy-talented, genuine, sweet, funny, good humored guy. But y’know, I may not like his music.
