Simon Cowell misses Paula Abdul. Awww…

Extra nabbed Simon Cowell for his thoughts on life at the judge’s table minus Paula Abdul.

The show, he said is “different,” and “I miss her, of course.”

The tough judge doesn’t want to “get in the middle” of the “American Idol” execs and Abdul, but he dished that the chemistry between the judges is different without her. “Extra’s” Terri Seymour asked Cowell to explain and he bluntly answered, “It’s like comparing a carrot to a banana.”

Today, I think, is the final day of the judge’s auditions with Avril Lavigne. The 100-plus who made it through will go to Hollywood in November or early December.

I also watched Paula’s performance on “Drop Dead Diva.” (Lifetime sent me an advance copy). I did hear and watch what she did live a few weeks back in Peachtree City. She plays a faux judge in a dream sequence where she shoes off a judge’s robe with sequined pants and high heels. Her comic timing is surprisingly good. Check it out Sunday, Sept. 13 on Lifetime at 9 p.m.

I can’t really say I’d be upset by some “different chemistry” among the judges.

lol me either Deirdre!!! and thanks Rodney, for “shortening” the postings yesterday (ahem)

i’m like D, i don’t mind the trolls, but when they get really obnoxious or offensive, it’s just plain ol’ time to send them on their not-so-merry way, imho!

We’re about ready to leave for the Great Smokey Mountains, so I wish you all a great holiday week-end. Be safe and careful on the highways. There will be some crazies out for sure. Please if you are drinking, don’t drive. Have someone do your driving for you.

I will go out on a limb here and say that it wouldn’t surprise me if Simon had Paula back for at least as a guest “commentator”.

Be back Monday.

Thanks for the new thread, RH, and thanks for playing cyber sheriff on the last one (although it’s too bad that it sometimes gets to that point!)

Every time I see a picture of Simon I think, “I wish there was a show called ‘What Not To Wear ALL THE TIME!’ on TLC.” And Simon could be the first celebrity guest. I mean, c’mon, does he even own a shirt with a collar?

Of course, those short- and long-sleeve ‘T-shirts’ he wears all the time probably cost $300 or more!

Alright, I’m finally settling down from a busy couple of months and catching up on the blogging. I see some things never change no matter what time of year!

Highlander – I do wish someone would ambush Simon with some decent clothing, but…ya know how that goes. Either way it should be interesting to see the new judge combo(s).

Meanwhile, happy holiday to all. I’ll be heading down to the DragonCon thing tomorrow. Check in next week hopefully.

Enjoy the trip Nana.

Rodney, thanks. I still think that you need to get an interview with a judge. I love all the contestant interviews, but I think Idol needs to let a judge or two be available for media interviews. You hear me FOX?

By the way, this blog used to be like a carrot to me, but now it is a banana.

I’ve been trying to figure out when to watch Glee, LOL — i forgot about dvr’ing the pilot, so i’m way behind :-( but frankly i don’t know if i CAN add anything else to my tv menu!!!

ok. have we gotten the SEC out of our way for a week? you guys should try LIVING in an SEC town — especially when the alums come to town and throw trash all over the neighborhoods, cause us “townies” to have to hide behind locked doors except during the actual game (we rush out to get our shopping done and hide again before the game is over), sure they bring cash to the businesses (mostly restaurants and bars, of course) but except for Auburn fans, don’t tip worth a flip when they go out after the game — fights between rival fans, gawd — ok…i’ve vented — at LEAST this weekend was an away game, but not far enough that the dawgeez went away….sorry our guys lost but good GRIEF…i can only get SO excited about a bunch of guys slogging it over a pigskin…

Try being sandwhiched between a mob of ‘Bama, Va Tech, and Ga Tech fans on the MARTA, when you’re going someplace other than a football game! And 2/3 of them had several hours before their game. Yay, that was fun.

As for Glee – watched the pilot when it aired after Idol and loved it. Will be DVRing it to check the season out.

Morning, everyone! Hope everybody had a happy and safe holiday!

I’ll reserve judgment on Glee. Saw the pilot. As a long-time Journey fan, just didn’t care for the anemic arrangement of Don’t Stop Believin’. And, I don’t think the actress who plays the female lead sings very well.

Morning!

Busy day today. Another tasting for the reception food and a visit to a baker for the wedding cake.

RE Glee. One of the things that I find endearing about the characters is their foibles. Not one of them is perfect or even close to it. And I love Jane Lynch in everything she does. IMO, Don’t Stop Believin’ as sung by a high school glee club rather than a rock band was completely believable and way better than our own Idols’ version of it.

Morning all. Re: Glee, I loved it, too. It reminds me of a musical version of Boston Public, which I was almost fanatical about seeing every week while it lasted. Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend. Like Nana, I spent part of it in the mts., but spent the day yesterday doing mundane stuff like laundry.

hi gang — i’ll have to dvr glee and watch it when the guys are working, lol. but i think i’ll probably enjoy it.

spent the weekend mostly sleeping! gave blood saturday morning, and then slept, off and on, for the next 24 hours — not sure why it “took so much out of me” this time!!! then i had to rush to finish a typing job, so including some time spent in the glorious outdoors b/c the weather was so incredible, i was mostly lazy, but feelin’ gooooood.

hope y’all are all well!!!

I got to see a couple of advance eps of “Glee” and fans of the pilot won’t be disappointed. Who needs “more cowbell?” Bring on “more Jane Lynch!” Anyway—new blog entry for new week.
