Nana, I think it may be Jeanine that leaves on the girls’ side. I know Melissa has a possibility of leaving, too, though. As good as Ade is, I believe sentiment will get Evan through to the finals. May be wrong.

After my being a part of the Donald Braswell story after AGT, some of the things that go on there just disgust me. They do not eliminate folks fairly at all, as evidenced by the light-bulb chewer making it through and others, hugely more talented, went home. The little girl last night who played the keyboard and sang made it through, too, so age had nothing to do with the child who sang “At Last” not making it. Maybe she wasn’t as “cute” or something. And, in some cases, IMO, they let people through, just to make them look foolish, like the skinny old guy with his hair dyed black, who “danced,” and I use the term with tongue in cheek. He was not capable of making it through, yet they gave him hope and lots of face time in which to look awful. Enough! Soapbox has had a workout.

Since I had to see what everybody is talking about, AND it’s now down to the top 40 “acts”, I recorded and watched (with you there, Highlander, abt annoying commercials) AGT last night. Had given up earlier, after two episodes of hooks through noses and other weird stuff. Still very objectionable show; really hated seeing everybody having to cry their way onto the next level, and young kids being so cruelly dismissed. The nameless former Idol contestant wasn’t that good, Rickster, two false notes on that short snippet. How did she even get to Vegas?

But now I guess I’m hooked.

Have to add my thoughts on SYTYCD. The quest judge was a bit much. Didn’t care for him one iota. The comments he made, just may backfire and the votes go to Evan. It’s hard to guess who will leave tonight. In the ladies catagory, maybe Melissa and in the guys, maybe Ade. I think Kayla and Brandon are the ones to beat. Just loved the last dance they performed. Taped AGT, so can’t make any comments yet.

Deirdre does Kara’s contract have a “rip off your dress once a season” clause? Because that is one reason I can see them bringing her back.

Has AGT always done their top 40 eliminations like that? First, the talent has to stand in front of the judges while they hem and haw and pretend, then they yell something about going to Hollywood. Steal from Idol much? Then Simon Cowell calls and I feel like I’m watching Idol with really crappy judges and far less talent.

Yeah, I know this is Simon’s show but you’d think he could do something different!

Oh, and before I forget(or wish I COULD forget) EONLINE is reporting that Kara has signed a contract to continue judging on Idol.

Was watching AGT last night and saw that the former Idol contestant (I can’t remember her name) got passed over for the top 40. While I think her little “I can sing better than anyone here” tirade made me much less sympathetic to her… for her to get passed over and some of the freak show acts (like the light bulb chewing guy) made it through was incomprehensible.

They must have a quota system, X number of singers, Y number of dance acts, Z number of freak shows.

And if Hasselhoff isn’t the most smarmy, self-absorbed, pompous celebrity on the planet… he’s at least in the top three.

Morning all! D, I couldn’t agree more about Evan. He has a huge fan following and could really be the benficiary of the backlash you mentioned, even though Ade and Brandon outshone him last night. I love him, but acknowledge he’s not the best of the final three men.

And, Highlander, the guest judge on SYTYCD last night was channeling Randy. He kept saying “for me” as a way to introduce his critiques.
