Trouble between Kelly Clarkson and label?

Perez Hilton is fanning the flames after Kelly Clarkson complained that the single “Already Gone” was released without her approval. His twist is that the label said it would not support the album anymore if “Already Gone” wasn’t released so she relented.

True or not, I do appreciate Kelly’s honesty and her need to control her own destiny. But there are consequences to airing dirty laundry.

So far, the single is not getting much traction on top 40 radio that I can tell.

Ryan Tedder, the songwriter who gave identical song samples to both Beyonce and Kelly Clarkson, responded on his MySpace page in part, then took it down. You can read what he said on MJ’s blog.

-More info here about the drunk loser who hit Alexis Cohen.

Rodney, you know I love you in a bloggy type of way, but please never ever reference Perez Hilton again. Ever.

Ever.

Otherwise, business is business. Polticking between an artist and her label is no different than what I see in my office.

Gotta agree with JT on this one Rodney. Perez Hilton is a fame-wh**e and will fan any flames anywhere, anytime, to get his name in print.

In the meantime…it seems to me that Kelly is just trying to do the right thing. Beyonce comes out with a song that sounds a lot like one of her songs…it only stands to reason that she doesn’t want to embarrass herself or look like a thief.

Well, here I am….I was waiting for this entry. ;)

Hmm, what can I say that I haven’t already, tho? Other than taking anything Perex Hilton says with a MAJOR grain of salt, I don’t know. I could go on and on about the reasons I dislike the guy, chief among them his seeming dislike for Kelly and constant desire to make claims about her sexuality, weight, and career. I will spare y’all.

This is all eventually going to come to an end. Kelly needs to go her own way, and the label needs to realize she’s a 27 year old woman. She’s past the “pop princess” phase. I enjoy her music, clearly, but I’m ready for her to grow up as an artist. She was 21 when she was singing Miss Independent, how much longer does she have to go before singing mature, age appropriate music? She was the “girl-next-door,” but the girl’s gotta grow up sometime.

Call me selfish, but I cannot wait until the day my eardrums don’t bleed from all the tweens screaming. I don’t care if I have to see her at a dive bar in Nashville, Burleson, or whetever. I have a feeling she has a lot to say and can’t wait to hear it… ;)

Rickster– I completely agree. The state should be saved the money for the trial. Why keep this guy from killing himself?
K&C Fan– I agree that Kelly is no longer a little girlie pop princess and deserves a label that will treat her as an adult.
Linny — right on! I laughed out loud at the thought of Perez and fanning.
Rodney — NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER use Perez as a source again. He’s a disgusting pig. I could care less about his sexuality, but his mouth and his attitude are reprehensible.

In Perez’s blog last night, he claimed “sources” told him. Today he has a response he added to last nights blog, based on a Representative of RCA saying:

A rep for Kelly’s label tells us, “Kelly Clarkson is a valued member of the RCA Records family, we are very proud of her album “All I Ever Wanted” and happily continue to promote the record and support Kelly and her music.”

But, he didn’t write a NEW story on it, he just added it too his false story from last night, that way most people will miss the fact completely, and continue to write about his bull sh*t blog of last night. The guy is a a$$wipe just trying to stir the pot.

More from People on the hit and run driver who killed Alexis Cohen: According to his lawyer Daniel Glassman, 23-year old Daniel Bark is on suicide watch because “he’s having a difficult time being charged with killing someone. It’s an emotional overload.” Bark is accused of aggravated manslaughter, death by vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident, charges the attorney promises to fight vigorously: “We don’t know what her state of affairs were, her physical condition was (sic), if she walked into a vehicle.”
The lawyer is blaming the victim of walking into his clients car!

You know the attorney has a good point, if Alexis didn’t want to get hit by a car she wouldn’t have been in the street. That’s right folks, you cross the street you are giving drivers blanket permission to hit you. The other day I was about to hit a girl with my car, but then I realized that her state of affairs were in good order. So I swerved to the other side of the road and hit some old guy, his physical condition wasn’t that good to begin with which is why I’m not in jail right now.

Good Morning Everybody……………..

Today’s Quote: “Use what talents you have; the woods would have little music if no birds sang their song except those who sang best.”

Daniel Bark should be severly punished for causing the death of Alexis. He made the choice to drive recklessly, she didn’t make the choice to die. I have no sympathy for anyone that makes choices in that manner. So, he’s having trouble dealing with killing her and now is on suicide watch. What about her family having to deal with it and the immature, incompetent actions of his?

The other day I was about to hit a girl with my car, but then I realized that her state of affairs were in good order. So I swerved to the other side of the road and hit some old guy, his physical condition wasn’t that good to begin with which is why I’m not in jail right now.

Sounds like the new health care plan. ;-)

I was watching SYTYCD last night. The guest judge annoyed the crap out of me. He makes the pimping on American Idol look like child’s play. I don’t know why he just didn’t refuse to acknowledge Evan at all considering how much he just dismissed him. Now granted, of the 3 guys left, Evan is probably the least talented but, after last night, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there was a big voter backlash.

Highlander

July 30th, 2009

After watching my recording of last night’s AGT (I hate all the commercials – it’s just so much better to zip right through them), I quickly realized that Idol doesn’t have the market cornered on repetittive and annoying judges’ catch-phrases:

“You’re what this competition is all about!” or “This is the hardest decision we’ve had to make.” or “You’re just not what we’re looking for at this point.” (This last implying that they WILL be looking for you at some point???)

harrietth

Morning all! D, I couldn’t agree more about Evan. He has a huge fan following and could really be the benficiary of the backlash you mentioned, even though Ade and Brandon outshone him last night. I love him, but acknowledge he’s not the best of the final three men.

And, Highlander, the guest judge on SYTYCD last night was channeling Randy. He kept saying “for me” as a way to introduce his critiques.

Rickster

July 30th, 2009

Was watching AGT last night and saw that the former Idol contestant (I can’t remember her name) got passed over for the top 40. While I think her little “I can sing better than anyone here” tirade made me much less sympathetic to her… for her to get passed over and some of the freak show acts (like the light bulb chewing guy) made it through was incomprehensible.

They must have a quota system, X number of singers, Y number of dance acts, Z number of freak shows.

And if Hasselhoff isn’t the most smarmy, self-absorbed, pompous celebrity on the planet… he’s at least in the top three.

Deirdre

July 30th, 2009
8:43 am

Has AGT always done their top 40 eliminations like that? First, the talent has to stand in front of the judges while they hem and haw and pretend, then they yell something about going to Hollywood. Steal from Idol much? Then Simon Cowell calls and I feel like I’m watching Idol with really crappy judges and far less talent.

Yeah, I know this is Simon’s show but you’d think he could do something different!

Oh, and before I forget(or wish I COULD forget) EONLINE is reporting that Kara has signed a contract to continue judging on Idol.

Have to add my thoughts on SYTYCD. The quest judge was a bit much. Didn’t care for him one iota. The comments he made, just may backfire and the votes go to Evan. It’s hard to guess who will leave tonight. In the ladies catagory, maybe Melissa and in the guys, maybe Ade. I think Kayla and Brandon are the ones to beat. Just loved the last dance they performed. Taped AGT, so can’t make any comments yet.

Mercedes S.

July 30th, 2009

Since I had to see what everybody is talking about, AND it’s now down to the top 40 “acts”, I recorded and watched (with you there, Highlander, abt annoying commercials) AGT last night. Had given up earlier, after two episodes of hooks through noses and other weird stuff. Still very objectionable show; really hated seeing everybody having to cry their way onto the next level, and young kids being so cruelly dismissed. The nameless former Idol contestant wasn’t that good, Rickster, two false notes on that short snippet. How did she even get to Vegas?

But now I guess I’m hooked.

harrietth

July 30th, 2009
9:54 am

Nana, I think it may be Jeanine that leaves on the girls’ side. I know Melissa has a possibility of leaving, too, though. As good as Ade is, I believe sentiment will get Evan through to the finals. May be wrong.

After my being a part of the Donald Braswell story after AGT, some of the things that go on there just disgust me. They do not eliminate folks fairly at all, as evidenced by the light-bulb chewer making it through and others, hugely more talented, went home. The little girl last night who played the keyboard and sang made it through, too, so age had nothing to do with the child who sang “At Last” not making it. Maybe she wasn’t as “cute” or something. And, in some cases, IMO, they let people through, just to make them look foolish, like the skinny old guy with his hair dyed black, who “danced,” and I use the term with tongue in cheek. He was not capable of making it through, yet they gave him hope and lots of face time in which to look awful. Enough! Soapbox has had a workout.
