Adam Lambert and Kris Allen combined for 9 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to the press release, here’s the list
No. 11: “No Boundaries,” Kris Allen
No. 16: “Heartless,” Kris Allen
No. 19: “Mad World,” Adam Lambert
No. 37: “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Kris Allen
No. 56: “A Change Is Gonna Come,” Adam Lambert
No. 66: “Apologize,” Kris Allen
No. 72: “No Boundaries,” Adam Lambert
No. 82: “One,” Adam Lambert
No. 94: “Falling Slowly,” Kris Allen
Carrie Underwood also re-enters the chart, with her remake of Mötley Crüe’s “Home Sweet Home,” at No. 79. Carrie performed the song on the Tuesday night season finale show, and her recording was heard all through the season as a goodbye song for finalists who were voted off the show. Carrie is also at No. 68 this week with “I Told You So,” featuring Randy Travis.
Add in Kelly Clarkson, charting with her new single “I Do Not Hook Up” as well as its predecessor, “My Life Would Suck Without You;” Kellie Pickler, having a great run with “Best Days Of Your Life;” Daughtry, on the survey with “No Surprise” and Jordin Sparks, charting with her new single, “Battlefield,” and there are 18 “American Idol” songs on this week’s Hot 100.
-And the rumors are true: Jennifer Hudson is pregnant. The Chicago Sun Times reports she held a baby shower over the weekend.
Rumors have been rampant that Hudson and fiancee David Otunga, a former reality-TV star training to wrestle professionally, were expecting a baby.
She recently postponed dates on her concert tour with Robin Thicke, claiming vocal cord strain. She has worn loose-wasted tops at some recent public appearances, furthering the speculation.
-Here’s the link to Kris Allen singing the Beatles’ “Yesterday” with former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee on bass on the Fox News Network.
-And how are you feeling about Susan Boyle losing “Britain’s Got Talent” this weekend and then ending up needing medical help from all the stress? The massive hype two months ago really did her in. I suspect the Brits got tired of her after she was pronounced a frontrunner too earliy on. Sounds familiar, eh?
I don’t think re-singing “I Dream a Dream” was a smart move either. She should have taken a risk and done something else.

I said good morning on the other thread. This one must have posted at exactly the same time! Here is Piers Morgan’s take on what happened to Susan: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_3344398.html I am soooo sorry for her.

Rodney, Piers told her to sing that song again. He said it was her signature. He did the same thing with Donald Braswell and “You Raise Me Up” on AGT. I saw Piers interviewed on Today before the finale, and he said he had recommended Susan do it.

HOpe everyone had a great weekend.
This weekend was a big one for my 11 month old granddaughter Elizabeth. She went swimming for the first time in our new pool. She cried at first because the water is still a little chilly (water temp was 82), but after that initial cold water shock she had a blast. She was kicking her feet and having fun splashing daddy, paw paw and Nana in the face. She also figured out how to blow bubbles under water and had a lot of fun doing that, showed no fear at all putting her face in the water.

Sounds like you had a great weekend, Mike!
Feel sorry for Susan, too. The British press is notoriously aggressive and in a matter of 2 months they managed to make her a queen and then tear her to ribbons for not dealing with that pressure.

morning gang … i too feel sorry for Susan. What a shock going from the local karaoke queen to all the ballyhoo from BGT’s not only national but international exposure must have been for her. And D’s right… the press in Britain — heck everywhere! — is so cruel… nothing matters but getting (or creating?) a story!
Mike, that sounds awesome — I’ll bet she’s awfully precious!!!
Nana should be back soon, i believe she got back in town late last night, so is probably taking a day to rest from the vacation before heading back to work! or else her desk was so covered up she can’t even SEE her computer yet!!! but i do know she made it back safe and sound.

Susan Boyle made that show an international smash hit, became bigger than the show itself, and now just has to stay away from all the scum who will try and exploit her. Dance troupe? Their 15 minutes of fame is over, and we’ll never hear of them again. It’s all about Susan, and hopefully she will find some serenity in the wild, wild world that awaits her. She could 100% sell out shows in arenas across North America – bigger than Kris and Adam combined – if she can handle the pressure that comes with the fame she’s stumbled upon.

She just wanted to sing for the Queen. I hope she gets to. And Neg is absolutely correct in that she became bigger than the show. Nobody gave a rat’s azz about it before she came along; or at least cared only peripherally.

If Susan Boyle can’t handle the pressure from the show, it is questionable whether or not she’ll be able to handle the stress involved with being in the music industry. It is a cut throat business that preys on talent as long as you are making money for the record labels. Based on the type of songs she sings, I don’t predict a long future in the industry doing concerts however she might be successful selling her CDs via infomercials, aka late night TV ads.
Someone on an earlier blog had mentioned her possibly doing Broadway type stuff but those shows are already having difficult staying afloat due to the economic times even with established talent with name recognition in both New York and London.

Good Monday morning my fellow bloggers….welcome to JUNE!!!
The summer is finally here and I got to swim in my pool this weekend. Mike S – I am so glad your g-baby did well in the pool! My niece was a tree frog when we first put her in – never would let go – now she is a fish!
Poor Susan Boyle….I don’t think she will last too long in this world of entertainment. The British Press can be cruel, even more so than the paparazzi over here. I hope she gets her dream of recording an album and singing for the queen – how great would that be!?

I don’t think any one expects Susan to be a “star” in the music industry, Stephen. I think it’s more that she truly has a wonderful singing voice, and her dream was to sing for the Queen, more than anything else — not that she couldn’t have used the money, but she was doing ok in her village, being the draw to karaoke nights at the local pub. The woman has never been “out” anywhere until now, and the sudden slap in the face of the media and it’s particular brand of cruelty was a bit more than anyone should have to suffer, much less a simple homebody who just happens to have a wonderful talent.
I agree that HM might prefer to hear susan sing over watching a dance troupe, but one never knows!!! maybe she’s (the queen i mean) a closet lover of hiphop/street dance, etc.???
w.b. Nana; i knew if MY desk was swamped after 1.5 days yours would surely be flooded after a whole week!!!

The biggest problem for Susan has been the British press. They’re far and away worse than the US media in terms of building up and then decimating the celeb du jour. They make the rags like the National Enquirer look tame. Susan would find things much easier to take in America, where networks and shows like Entertainment Tonight treat celebs with kid gloves and the celebrity worship is the norm.

Good morning all, thanks for the varied thread Rodney. Also, I’m sorry but I have to stir the pot a little… In the top 50 Kris is at 11, 16, and 37 while Adam is at 19. Where is the conspiracy talk now? Kris is beating Adam where it counts!
Truth be told, I’m impressed that those two have that many songs in the top 100.
Susan Boyle… yawn.
Jennifer Hudson, I’m waiting to duck and cover, I’m surprised we haven’t had any of the blogging trash show up yet.

Don’t expect trash today, JT. Jennifer is an engaged adult who has recently suffered a horrible tragedy. Even the most callous of us would step back from criticizing her pregnancy. At least, I hope so!

I agree that Susan should have taken risks with her kinda voice. I’ve been reading around articles which compared her to Adam Lambert. As much as i thought Adam should have won, I do not agree on Susan’s case. I really thought Diversity were doing good from their first performance just that they got overshadowed by the whole buzz around Susan Boyle where most didn’t expect someone of her looks to deliver a song well. Besides that, she was just like any other entertainer. I really thought Diversity stood out, because they were more daring with their moves, creative, enthusiastic and hardworking bunch of kids who practiced everyday after school and work. They deserve MORE credit from the media who hadn’t been covering much about them. Afterall, Susan was going to earn millions from her fame. DIVERSITY would have needed the win more since they put in so much of effort. So, here is to DIVERSITY. Good Job guys! You guys deserved it. All The Best.

Nobody here had the advantage of seeing the show, so we cannot make judgements about the other acts. We just saw Susan and fell in love with her. I am sure the dance troupe deserved their win. It’s just that we were invested in Susan and rooted for her all the way.

I don’t know how to post a link on here, but here is an article about Kris at Disney…
http://www.mouseplanet.com/8856/Walt_Disney_World_Resort_Update#news1
“Idol” Allen makes good on his promise
Kris Allen, the newest American Idol, appeared at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on Friday, making good on his “I’m Going To Disney World” commercial vow. Allen, who won the title on May 20, rode with Mickey Mouse in a celebratory parade up Hollywood Boulevard, then serenaded Minnie Mouse outside the American Idol Experience attraction.
The 23-year-old singer from Conway, Arkansas, follows in the footsteps of David Cook, the first singer to utter those famous five words. Cook went to Walt Disney World (along with 28 other former Idol contestants) for the opening of The American Idol Experience. Celebrating with Allen Friday at Walt Disney World was his new bride, Katy. They were married eight months ago.
While there were probably more Star Wars Weekend fans in the park than Allen fans, it was still a huge crowd along the parade route and at the performance stage in front of the attraction’s big screen.
Allen also recorded a short video segment that will be used in the attraction (”Your American Idol journey could start right here”), and made a somewhat-less-than-surprise appearance at the 11 a.m. show. During his appearance at the attraction, he noted that the American Idol Experience stage was actually nicer than the original.
There is a picture of him in the parade with Mickey Mouse and a picture of him singing to Minnie Mouse.

Thanks, Rodney, for keeping the new threads (and new topics) going.
So Piers Morgan suggested Susan Boyle do the same song again for the finale, huh. The same song that everyone has seen an Obamillion (new term for mega-gazillion in honor of our new president’s projected budget deficits) time on TV and YouTube! What a moron!! (And how many people had ever heard of him before America’s Got Talent came on???)
Congratulations to Kris and Adam for their continued success on Billboard! Too bad the tour will delay them getting any cd’s out for a while.

As a Brit I have to admit our tabloids are a nasty bunch adn I feel for her now as they have contributed to her current condition. However, on the night, Susan was not the best act. There were 2 dance troops plus an young male dancer who all performed brilliantly and with a fresh routine. Hopefully Susan will bet back on track and she’ll get her dream of singing for the Queen eventually.
