I agree with Joan @ 11:45. AI has turned out to be a sham and has lost all credibility with me and I will no longer waste my time watching. I would like to see the vote results posted, as well as how many were text votes. For me …. I could not get a vote in over the phone (not one) ….yet I read posts that say people voted over 500 times. Those who have unlimited ATT texting probably decide the winner

Mike S made the point I’ve been thinking all along (thanks, Mike). The finale happened exactly the way it should have. We AI veterans know how this show works, and so do the rest of the fan base. Adam won the talent competition, hands down. Kris, however, won the American Idol-ship. Just think about the past winners. Kris is marketable as an “American idol”. Adam’s marketable as a talent. Nevertheless, they’re both fine. Adam will benefit by not having to sing Kara’s silly song. It’s not his genre anyway. And, I think Mike is also correct: The top 4 will do VERY well. I like all 4 of them. I might not buy everyone’s CDs, but I might purchase an mp3 or two of a few. Great show (except for the KISS performance & Rod…yucch) last night.

This is a travesty. No one, especially Chris, even comes close to Adam’s magnificent talent. Adam is one of the most unique, gifted and creative singers in my life time. Tuesday night was a farce. It was not a singing contest. The judges, except for Simon, did not judge Chris’ singing. All they said is that he has improved – too what? A mediocre singer who relies on 10-14 year old girls to vote for him?

Adam – please feel good that you didn’t win. You are too good to be associated with this group. I will anxiously wait for your first cd.

As for American Idol, I won’t watch the show any more. If someone with so little talent as Chris wins over Adam, and even David Gookey, I have no interest.

Wednesday evening said much about the show and about our country – we are still deeply embedded with prejudice and fearful of art that is out of the ordinary.
