On an exceedingly quiet day in ‘Idol’ land, here’s the latest bookmaker.com odds on who will win “Idol” continues to be dominated by Adam Lambert. Looks about right to me.
Adam Lambert -350 (same as wk earlier)
Danny Gokey +275 (up from +325 a wk earlier)
Kris Allen +1000 (up from +1400 a wk earlier)
Allison Iraheta +1800 (down from +1600 a wk earlier)
Matt Giraud +2000 (up from +4000 a wk earlier)
-Slash apparently leaked that he will be a guest judge, probably for top 4. Does that mean rock as a theme? I would hope so…
–”My Life Would Suck Without You” peaked at No. 3 (blame Lady Gaga and Flo-Rida, both of whom appeared on ‘Idol’) and is starting to slip. But Kelly Clarkson’s second single “I Do Not Hook Up” might be another top 10 hit. It’s already at No. 22 on the mediabase 24/7 top 40 chart.
Carrie Underwood’s single “I Told You So” is up to no. 4 on the country chart. Kellie Pickler’s “Best Days of Your Life” has been on the charts since December, nearly five months, and is only now about to hit the top 20. It’s at No. 21. The video and “Idol” appearance might have gotten listeners to take heed and give it some push up the radio charts.
David Cook’s second single “Come Back to Me” is struggling up the top 40 charts but hot AC (the more adult form of pop) is giving it some spins, with the song up to No. 22.
Jennifer Hudson’s “If This Isn’t Love” is no. 2 on urban AC and No. 27 on the urban chart.
And Chris Sligh’s co-written “Here Comes Goodbye” by Rascal Flatts slipped out of No. 1 (in favor of Macon’s own Jason Aldean.)
-And here’s a link to the video for David Archuleta’s latest single “A Little Too Not Over You,” the song he sang last week. Unlike “Crush,” top 40 radio is not hot on this song so far.
