3/18: American Idol recap, top 11 elimination round – Alexis Grace cut! And not saved!!!
Loading ...Oh, boy. The shocker happened early! Alexis Grace had the fewest votes for no particular reason. She is clearly one of the stronger contestants and deserves to be in the top 10 for sure and ensure a spot on the “American Idol” tour. Sure, her “Jolene” wasn’t great but it wasn’t the worst either. The teen gals must be voting for the Danny/Anoop/Kris types and the women are getting screwed.
“You were the one we’re thinking about saving. It’s all going to come down to this performance,” Simon said.
She is truly singing for her life. She’s missing notes galore but she’s singing with passion as the judges convene. Her performance was too sloppy for their taste. They let her go! What the…? She should have been saved. Seriously.
Props, by the way, to www.dialidol.com, for getting this shocker correct.
And Pres. Obama, with a speech Tuesday, is peeving “Idol” fans by pushing the show back to Wednesday and Thursday instead of Tuesday and Wednesday. The theme: And it’s Motown next week.
The group sing is Georgia Travis Tritt’s “T-R-O-U-B-L-E.” They solve the problem of Scott’s blindness by having him play the piano. It was cool to finally see some of the post-show reactions and such. I’m amazed “Idol” hadn’t done that before.
Side note–how did Randy Jackson mix up Allison and Alexis?
Carrie Underwood sounded great though, yes, that ribbon and hair (wig?) looked odd.

If either Allison or Alexis go home there is something seriously wrong with the voters…I’m hoping it will be Scott, though I wouldn’t be upset with Michael leaving.

I’m with you. GAgirl, I’d much rather see both Scott and Michael leave before Allison and Alexis. Megan is going sometime soon so it won’t be a tragedy if it’s tonight. I do like her and I’d rather see all 3 girls stay if M or S could go in their place.

I don’t think the judges would save Allison or Megan. It could pose quite a problem for them if the voters pulled such a colossal blunder as putting Alexis on the bottom. But I’m afraid all the same reasons I’ve been soured on the show for the past two years are still in play. Taylor Hicks drove me away; the two Davids kept me away. The audience appears to favor cute little boys. I won’t stick around to watch Danny, Anoop and Kris fight it out when the top female talent doesn’t stand a chance.

Perhaps whatever happens tonight will spur some action on the part of voters–if someone undeserving such as Alexis or Allison get voted off.

WE…they will eliminate 2 the following week. Gives the voters a chance to get their act together and stop the stupid sympathy votes. Simon says somebody is awful and the voters stop voting for their favorite and vote to “save” someone from the wrath of Simon…it annoys the heck out of me!
