1/5: Spoiler site notes two Georgians making it to Hollywood
Well, the new year kind of starts now on this Monday. I still haven’t figured out how to embed video on Wordpress. Hopefully I’ll learn soon enough.
Anyway, Joes Place blog, which did a great job last year chronicling who showed up in Hollywood and made it to the top 40, is at it again. Here’s what he has so far. As we know, this is mostly meaningless to us because we haven’t seen anybody yet. (One more week!). But I did see two people with Georgia residences. I won’t say their names here but I’ll link their myspace pages.
The first one is an R&B singer from Atlanta. She sounds okay though the first song on her Myspace page “Untouchable” is no great shakes.
I like this second gal from Lithonia more, though she’s more the acoustic/folk singer type. I think she has a pretty voice. The first song up “Boys Named Macedonia” is quite good.
Neither is said to be in the top 50 but the list Joe has so far is far from complete. There’s always been someone with Georgia ties in the semifinals every year so we’ll see how well we do this time around.

Q. Are you happy with your career path since “Idol”?
A. I couldn’t be happier. For me, this is a marathon, not a sprint. The longevity aspect to me is the most important. Doing Broadway theater and looking at movie roles and writing music and putting out CDs — you have to be well-rounded if you want longevity in a career.

Hey man the falcons caught fire this year and will do it again the next time they get the chance to play.Matt fryin brians did at a great supper type job leading this team to the championship and all.The cards deserved the title and will enjoy that win as long as the live on this earth.W eneed to do all three meals next year and eat all the desserts offered to us and have funwhats.

Cool new blog, but I miss having avatars like the version a couple years ago allowed (remember my Phil Donahue and John Belushi?). Real time posting is nice, as it will allow my fans to read my brilliant comments and analysis without annoying delays and interruptions.
Anyway, it’s almost Idol time so all can rejoice knowing the Negmeister will be back prowling the boards more often again.

Hey Y’all… Didn’t have a chance to post from the office today. I swear it doesn’t pay to take vacation. My desk was covered, plus Mondays are always my payroll processing day, which does take priority.
Yes, 1 week and we can rejoice that AI is baaaack. Can’t wait. To tie me over until then, the Bachelor comes back tonight. WooHoo!!!!!! One of my favorites from last season’s Bachelorette is the new Bachelor. Won’t miss that for sure.

Hey – I’m not exactly a newbie. I like wordpress, so I’m more inclined to post now, especially while the blog is new and they are putting it through it’s paces before the season starts. For years I’ve been reading MJ, Rodney, and Ken Barnes. I used to read Rickey, but a few times he made fun of kids I liked a lot and I got too upset. I think I may be over it now, though. LOL.
Anyway, in the previous post, some folks were talking about movies. I noticed on Mandisa’s myspace blog yesterday that she saw four movies when she came off of tour and reviewed them. She’s pretty funny.

Connie D. Thanks for the Mandisa link. I can’t guarantee that we won’t make fun of someone you like but, then, I used to like Constantine…you can just imagine the “abuse” I took for that one. And I was one of 2 people on here who thought Katharine McPhee deserved second place. I took a beating on that one, although it was a good-natured beating.
JT…you’ll have to explain to me why Jennifer Love-Hewitt is an ‘Idol tidbit’. If you end up going to SoCal, you’ll also have to beware of a hard charging 24 year old trying to join you on the JLH bandwagon.

Good morning! I survived my first day back at work, although it was tough going. I’m like Nana said yesterday–doesn’t pay to go on vacation! I was glad to have a job to come back to, however.
D, do you know if this is Lost’s last season? Seems like I remember them saying things would be ended satisfactorily at some point. Or, maybe I am wrong. Exactly one week until Idol!!

Nana…the Lost producers made a deal with the network about the end of the series. anybody who watches the show knows that it is a continuing story that requires your attention to even small details. The producers felt that it would be cheating the audience to draw out the story to a ridiculous long length. Lost has two seasons left thanks to the deal the producers made with the network.

Lara – Heroes, Lost, 24, AI — what more could we want??? I’m SO looking forward to Lost! I own seasons 1-3 on DVD, need to get 4… i can go back someday and watch the whole freaking set, bwaaahaaahaaa!! maybe i could figure some of it out then…. i do love that show! Linny – have you watched Leverage yet? There is another good one to add to your list. It stars Timothy Hutton, and I think it is on TNT. It is a group of thieves that band together with a common goal and end up helping people – kinda a Robin Hood theme.

Lara, yes, and i love it! It’s sort of like a combination, to me, of Mission Impossible (the series, not the movies), the Equalizer (do you remember that one? this guy goes around “righting” wrongs but outside the law, sort of?), with a touch of McGuyver thrown in — i love that things NEVER go exactly as planned, so there is improvisation and stumbles and all to deal with.

my poor DVR gets a workout — b/c hubby works some nights, we have it set up, literally, to record: CSI Miami, CSI NY, CSI, L&O, L&O:SVU, L&O:CI, Without A Trace, Cold Case, Numbers, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, Leverage, Lost, 24, AI (and such shows), Life on Mars, the Closer, that one that’s about the Marshall and the Witness Protection program (can’t think of the name of it right now), and a few more, LOL!!! Oh yes, re-runs of 7 Days, they’re so much fun. Then he comes home late at night and watches some, i watch some on weekends that i’ve missed, and we start over the next week!!! My biggest trauma these days is when there are THREE shows on at the same time, because it can only record 2 at a time. LOL!!! (my mouth to God’s ears, that this should be my biggest trauma!!! Amen!)
