Have your experiences with Driver Services lived up to the award-winning agency’s reputation, or down to the stereotypical reputation?

HORRIBLE experience. My husband waited over 7 hours at the Forsyth office to be told at 5:00 after all the teens with appointments. He would have to wait until the next day. Drove to the Roswell office, closed for training, 5 hours later at the Norcross center, he finally got the test. For no reasonable reason, basically on LEARNER’s PERMIT holders can get appointments. Please keep in mind that these 15 year olds don’t support families. DMV is a complete disaster, and all levels of management and many of the employees simply need to be fired. Terrible bureacratic nightmare. Award-winning, what a laugh.
This agency is the most pitiful example of ineffeciency I have ever seen!

I have lived in various states, VA, UT, WA, and GA. By far, GA was one of the worst experiences in getting a license, especially for my wife. GA regulations were tougher for her than it was for me. She had to provide much more documentation than I did. I felt like someone from another country would have been able to get a license quicker than she could.
